The European Olympic Committee (EOC) held its highest deliberative body in Bucharest, where it confirmed Istanbul as the host city of the 2027 European Games, launched the consideration of sites for 2031 and confirmed Brasov as the host of the Winter EYOF and Lignano Sabbiadoro as the host of the Summer EYOF in 2027.

President Spyros Capralos presented Istanbul as the host of the fourth European Games to be held in 2027. He did so alongside the Mayor of the bicontinental city, Mr Ekrem İmamoğlu, who both highlighted the virtues of the great Turkish metropolis.

The new leader is already in office. He was selected from a pool of 1,840 candidates. The new roadmap of the Strategic Agenda 2030 requires a strengthening of the work. As a professional, he brings with him experience from sports marketing agencies and the German Football League.

Athletes who have already qualified for Paris 2024 and have also completed their university studies received their awards last week. The project is funded by the European Union.

The fourth edition of the European Games will be held in Istanbul, in 2027. This was the unanimous decision of the Executive Committee of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) at its meeting on 20th March.

Twenty years after the Games were held in the birthplace of the Olympic Games, and the legacy of Athens 2004 falls far short of what was hoped for. Abandoned facilities are a symbol of the great difficulties in dealing with the aftermath of the Games.

The President of the EOC, Spyros Capralos, and the Vice President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, had a fruitful meeting in Doha, Qatar. They took advantage of the World Aquatics Championships being held in the Asian country.

The Executive Committee (ExCo) of the European Olympic Committee (EOC) met for the first time in Madrid on 6 February. The meeting was hosted by the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE). 

It will start in January and run for 15 months. To date, more than 400 sports organisations in Europe have benefited from SIGGS 3.0 to improve their integrity, autonomy, and governance. The first meeting be held place on 25 and 26 January.

Spyros Capralos visited Kosovo for the first time, and his first stop was NOC-Kosovo, where he was received by the President, Ismet Krasniqi, and the Secretary General, Besim Aliti, where he toured the new facilities of KON-Kosovo and met with the staff and various officials.

Spyros Capralos, President of the European Olympic Committees (EOC), was able to update Margaritis Schinas, the European Commission vice-president, over humanitarian efforts to support the Ukrainian Olympic community affected by the Russian invasion.
