This Saturday, the best in boxing will descend on the Spanish capital. Madrid will play host to the IBA Champions' Night, with an impressive line-up of boxers from Spain and abroad vying for glory at the Madrid Arena.

The International Boxing Association Champions' Night is coming to Madrid to showcase the best boxers from Spain and beyond at the Madrid Arena, located in the heart of the Spanish capital.

The IBA, founded in 1946, has put together a six-event card for 4 May, starting at 18:30 local time at the Arena Madrid, a 12,000-capacity stadium in the heart of the Spanish capital. The main event pits 26-year-old local lad José Quiles (Elda, Valencia) against Bulgaria's Javier Ibañez Díaz in the 57kg category.

Quiles, known as "Crazy Horse", is the silver medallist at the European Championships in 2022 and the European Games in 2023. Meanwhile, Ibañez, who was born in Matanzas (Cuba) but lives in Sofia (Bulgaria), won the silver medal at the 2024 European Championships and the title at the 2023 European Games, defeating Quiles in the final.

Each boxer has one win and one draw in their personal records and this professional-style fight will determine the IBA Pro European Champion.

In the co-main event of the night, Spanish boxer Enmanuel Reyes Pla will take on Shohjakhon Abdullaev of Uzbekistan in the 92kg division. Reyes Pla, bronze medallist at the 2021 IBA World Championships and runner-up at the 2022 European Championships, is a 31-year-old experienced boxer who will face the 21-year-old talent of Abdullaev. Abdullaev has a string of victories to his name, including the Asian Youth and Under-22 titles.
